An eccentric and exciting film illuminating the inner and outer life of Baxter Goode, a man trying to find an ending to his book (about a sex obsessed stick figure searching for a portal to the three dimensional world) even as his father, a best selling Christian author, tries to stop him. His life is further complicated by his search for the ‘one’, a woman he is sure will liberate him from his long addiction to orgy fantasies. Both of these pursuits are somehow connected to God, who may or may not be a stick figure, and Baxter’s lesbian roommate, who may or may not be imaginary. Employing live action, animation, and experimental story techniques to explore existential, professional, and sexual crisis, ORGIES AND THE MEANING OF LIFE promises to be one of the more unique movie going experiences you will ever have.

Those of us who have travelled the Australian Outback will recognise the backdrop to “Samson and Delilah” – aboriginals living in squalid housing amidst household garbage, derelict cars and ubiquitous dust. Warwick Thornton sets himself the difficult task of depicting the monotony, hopelessness and despair of this existence without boring and depressing the audience. To a large measure he succeeds, although this film will not appeal to those you go to the cinema to escape the real world. Thornton’s great skill is to convey the developing relationship between the star-crossed lovers via body language rather than dialogue. The performances by untrained actors, especially Marissa Gibson (Delilah), are exceptional. Your view of this film is likely to be determined by whether you can empathise with the main characters and their inevitable misadventures. I certainly did, although I concede Samson’s character was underdeveloped and very hard to like. Appropriately, the movie ends with a glimmer of hope based on the resilience and determination of aboriginal women.

Bella Swan is still very much in love with vampire, Edward Cullen. The rest of the vampire coven who call themselves the Cullens, especially Alice, decide to throw Bella a private party for her eighteenth birthday. Things go wrong when Bella slices her finger and thirst overcomes the vampires. As a result of the danger Bella was put through, the Cullen family decide to leave Forks, Washington. At first Bella exempts herself from all social activities, until she realizes she can coexist with childhood friend, Jacob Black. As usual for Bella, things aren’t what they seem. Something is happening to Jacob that he can’t explain to Bella, and their friendship starts to deteriorate. But when someone from Bella’s past comes back to haunt her, everything will change again.

Сезария Эвора ( родилась 27 августа 1941 в Минделу, Кабо-Верде), «босоногая дива» — певица с островов Зелёного Мыса, исполнительница морны, фаду и модиньи.
с 1958 г. работала на музыкальной сцене Архипелага.
Первоначально исполняла песни в стиле «морна»— жанр, традиционный для Островов Зелёного Мыса, а также «фаду» , африканские песни.
Поёт на кабовердийском креольском — диалекте португальского языка. Акустическое обрамление голосу составляют рояль, гавайская гитара, аккордеон, скрипки и кларнет.
На сцену Эвора неизменно выходит босиком — это символическая дань бедности, в которой жили (и продолжают жить) её земляки на Островах Зелёного Мыса.
Свой первый сольный альбом певица выпустила в сорок пять лет. Этим альбомом начинается её сотрудничество с Lusafrica, которое длится до сих пор.
В начале 80-х начала тур по Европе.
В 1988 году стала знаменита на весь мир.
Сезария Эвора является обладательницей французской музыкальной награды — «Victoire de la Musique».
Пять раз она была номинирована на Grammy, дважды становилась лауреатом этой премии.
6 февраля 2008 года Сезария Эвора награждена французским орденом Почётного легиона.

Producer/director Gini Reticker (A Decade Under the Influence, Class of 2006) turns her attentions to the topic of peaceful protest by exploring the efforts of Liberian Leymah Gbowee in ridding her government of corruption and paving the way for the election of Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf — Africa’s first elected female head of state. Shortly after Charles Taylor was elected as president of Liberia in 1996, he proved to be a hopelessly corrupt dictator. Opposing warlords from the north were terrorizing, raping, and murdering Liberians by the hundreds of thousands, sparking a bloody civil war, and many speculated that Taylor was quietly supporting them from the sidelines. Gbowee had already lived through one civil war, and the prospect of another was simply too much to bear. Determined to bring peace to her troubled country, Gbowee called on everyday Liberian women from neighboring churches to form the Christian Women’s Peace Initiative — a group dedicated to protesting the war that had claimed 250,000 lives and displaced over a million citizens. The women of the Christian Women’s Peace Initiative dressed in white and came out to protest the war by the thousands, even going so far as to surround the building in Ghana where the peace talks were taking place and physically prevent the men from leaving until a deal had been bartered. In addition to proving that peaceful protest could indeed affect change in times of unparalleled strife, the Christian Women’s Peace Initiative also helped pave the way for Johnson-Sirleaf to be elected as Liberia’s first-ever female president.

Successful, self-involved novelist Eric Lambert Jones has been dumped by his life long buddy Dylan.
