One day Melissa and her friend go to a party at a school friend's home. While there, Melissa meets Daniele (Primo Reggiani), a boy from the school, and has her first sexual experience. I never thought I’d ever see the day when I would “review” a film called 18 Year Old Virgin. This is largely because I do not review porn films and the title would indicate that it is a movie from the vaults of Playboy / Penthouse / or whatever.
Clearly 18 Year Old Virgin is not a pornography title then for I would not be writing this and would in fact be trying to find a new box of Kleenex. It is in fact The Asylum’s attempt at making an American Pie mockbuster. There are inherent problems with covering this “genre”. Usually when releasing classic mockbusters such as Snakes on a Train, you accept that The Asylum’s attempt will be lacking somewhat because of budget. In fact, most of their releases you would bring into the fold, the “budget factor” when reviewing them. However, American Pie-like films can be made for an extremely low budget; being in one location ninety percent of the time, no special effects and focussing on just a few characters.
The question remains then, when all the chips are equal, can The Asylum come up trumps?

American Pie 3: American Wedding� |� 701 MB
According to British film magazine Empire, the working title for the first American Pie (1999) movie (as its script did the rounds at various Hollywood studios) was, “Untitled Teenage Sex Comedy That Can Be Made For Under $10 Million That Most Readers Will Hate But I Think You’ll Love”. And love it the world did to the tune of $350 million at the box office.
‘Nuff said. That's why there is American Pie 2 (2001) and now American Pie 3: American Wedding, whether we like it or not.
So Jim and Michelle (Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan reprising their AP roles) decide to get hitched in American Wedding. That’s about the long and the short of it. The script really has run out of steam by this film, and barely makes it to its 89 minutes finishing time. Despite their popularity, the Amercian Pie’s have never been big on good scripts – the set pieces and boofhead/blue slapstick is paramount – and neither the production values. The formula is an odd blend of sweet teen/20-something characters with extreme gross-out humour, and it has to be said that American Pie 3 – in amidst its comfy, upwardly mobile, white middle class setting - is the grossest of them all.
Eugene Levy as Jim’s dad is still a gem, Stifler’s mum is still buxom and dangerous as Finch’s ‘Mrs Robinson’, sex is still on everyone’s minds, Stifler faces off in a gay bar dance comp which is actually kinda funny, with its clunky-bad choreography… Jim’s pubes get stuck on the wedding cake and a coprophilia scene worthy of GG Allen and Pier Paulo Pasolini is sure to keep fans of this goofy/filthy franchise well happy.
Fun at times but not really that funny, American Pie 3: American Wedding rates 2 � stars.

“There was never an American Pie 4” I said to a friend who handed me the DVD to my amazement. We are both big fans of American teen comedy and the way they have progressed into “Dude Where's My Car?”, “Old School” and “The 40 Year Old Virgin”. But as you have probably guessed from the lack of publicity and screenshots in this review, the majority of the old cast did not want to appear in this film. I don’t know if it ever made it into a cinema and Future Movies did not receive a DVD copy!
So just how bad is this film....?
It was stupid and immature and lacked creativity but I liked it and I don’t know why. The main character is Matt Stifler who is Stifler's younger brother. He is just like Seann William Scott (unbelievably so). He had perfect facial expressions and voice but to me was less lovable. The story focuses around him trying to live up to his brother’s expectations at Band Camp and in the end learning a valuable lesson.
Matt Stifler's ex-girlfriend Elyse (Arielle Kebbel) is also at Band Camp in an attempt to forward her career as a conductor and music writer. She has not been in any notable movies but she certainly has the potential for better with cute looks and a body to die for.
As for the comedy the little gags are not bad and the character development was there. The film features scenes of gross out comedy (as expected) and they remain effective and not overly stupid with shit flying around.
My main complaint about Band Camp is that the two notable cast members who did make a return where not in it enough. Jim’s dad (Eugene Levy) lacked the chemistry he had with his classic father and son (Pie F*****) relationship. Chuck Sherman (Chris Owen) was just plain unfunny as a teacher who sends Matt Stifler to Band Camp.
I would not spend a tenner on the DVD unless it was in the bargain bucket bin, which it will be before long... so look for it there and don’t expect too much.

I'm not sure exactl when American Pie became a cultural juggernaut, but I do know when it started to suck: Right after the second movie came out. Now in its fifth installment, the once cheeky Pie has become about as funny as a late-stage Porky's sequel, just biding time until the producers can no longer find girls willing to spend 90 minutes topless and kids willing to pay $20 to watch them.
This installment of the American Pie universe offers a Stifler cousin named Erik (John White), who's in his third year of a sex-free relationship with girlfriend Tracy (Jessy Schram). Generous to a fault, she finally gives Erik a "free pass" for one weekend, and he and his friends decide to go visit another Stifler cousin at his college, where a "naked mile" is being run. (You know, drunk students running across campus in the buff.) Erik meets a girl there. Will he go for it?
You can see all that coming, and you can probably see the midgets (a major side plot), the Viagra mishap, and the scenes of bodily fluids flying. None of this is altogether funny, but it's mightily vulgar. Be advised this is not one to expose the kiddies to.
Most difficult is actually keeping track of the four male leads. One has darker hair than the other three. Aside from that, I actually had a lot of trouble keeping track of who was who. I never thought I'd believe that the characters in American Pie were rich and nuanced, but compared to the disjointed, half-written affair here, they may as well be from Shakespeare.
It's sad that George Lucas in Love wunderkind Joe Nussbaum has already been relegated to this kind of material. His sole released-in-theaters directorial experience was the not-terrible Sleepover, and now he's makin' pie. Oh, the humanity.
DVD extras include deleted scenes (how is that possible?), gag reel, and featurettes (including one on the guys getting their butts waxed). Not kidding.

Universal manages to serve up another slice onto DVD.� This latest sequel finds the Stifler from the last sequel heading to college where he hooks up with a frat and the partying begins.�
Erik Stifler (John White) and his pal Mike “Cooze” Coozeman (Jake Siegel) have graduate high school and are going to college.� They think they’ve got an easy in because Erik’s cousin Dwight (Steve Talley) is in the hard-partying Beta House.� The house faces some competition when the Geek House, who want the Betas thrown off of campus.
They eventually challenge the Betas to the banned Greek Olympiad competition.� The former winner of the games returns to judge the games – Mr. Levenstein (Eugene Levy).� Meanwhile, the somewhat virginal (kinda) Erik has fallen for Ashley (Meghan Heffern) but must both compete in the games as well as pass the arduous (well not really) Olympiad.
The original cast of the American Pie films have moved on to other careers and left the sequel factory.� A studio isn’t likely to let go of a moneymaking thing so Universal brought in some new faces and kept Eugene Levy on the payroll.
This sequel comes across as a variation on Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds.� This time the nerds are the bad guys as they take on the horny Betas and attempt to get the toss off campus.� The Betas are a mixture of college frat stereotypes and the sex jokes fly fast and furious.
I’d have to say that this really isn’t the best in the series, it’s the sixth sequel the formula is pretty much wearing out by now.� This film is a direct sequel to the last one, Naked Mile, and only continues the mediocrity.� This film is the unrated version so you can expect some more nudity and sex jokes, but also some unrated extras.�
Beta House is presented in anamorphic widescreen (1.85:1) and is enhanced for 16x9 televisions.� Special features include a commentary from director Andrew Waller, writer/co-producer Erik Lindsay and actors John White, Steve Talley, Jake Siegel, Meghan Heffern, Nic Nac (“Bobby”) and Bradford Anderson (“Jake”).
Next are 15 minutes of deleted storylines with optional commentary form the participants above as well as 4 minutes of deleted scenes with optional commentary.� Next is 3 minutes of outtakes and an exclusive 3-minute interview with Mr. Levenstein (Eugene Levy in character).� The 6-minute “Behind the Games” is an interview with the director and the 13-minute “Beta House – Not Just Another Slice of Pie” is a making of program.
The “Boobie Yule Log” is 4 different scenes of tits (about 2 minutes each).� The 3-minute “Nuts about Pie” has the cast hitting each in the nuts… sigh.� The 2 minute “American Pie Presents: A Public Service Announcement” has the cast saying don’t what we do in the movie.� The 2 minute “UGO’s Foxy Fan on the Set” has some chick (from the Fox Network?) visiting the set.
There are also “Won More Time” and “Luv T’Day” music videos by God Made Me Funky (2 minutes each).� Oddly, there’s also a 21-minute episode of 30 Rock called “Hand Ball.”� I guess that it’s just to promote the show because I didn’t see a connection to the film (not that I looked too hard though).�
Beta House is more of the same from those secondary pie makers.� It has some funny bits but it really doesn’t rise much beyond bathroom humor.� Take a slice if you liked Band Camp or Naked Mile.� Others might get indigestion.�

American Pie 7 - Senior Skip Day (2008)�� |�� 690 MB
It takes you back to the world we all lived in for four years. Here, high school is the epitome of identity and existence. Senior year must be lived with great melodrama and self-importance because after graduation, life becomes a gaping black hole of uncertainty.
So it is that four friends decide they cannot leave high school without having sex. ("We can't go to college virgins. They probably have special dorms for people like us.")
Kevin (Thomas Ian Nichols) and his girlfriend Vicky are at the bittersweet end of a high school romance. They obsess about the L-word and the Big O. Sex becomes an inevitable and strangely joyless rite of senior year.
Meanwhile, Oz — a romantically challenged lacrosse star — discovers his inner Backstreet Boy to win the love of a sweet girl who looks about 12.
Finch is the group's dark horse. The first time he levels a withering gaze at the camera, makes a Latin joke and tosses back a mochaccino, it's easy to assume his inner life is deep in the closet, and his high school pursuit is lettering in Oscar Wilde. But no, he's just languid and jaded beyond his years.
Then there's Jim. Judging from hilarious bonding scenes with his dad (Eugene Levy), he is a second-generation geek. Who would be pathetic, if he weren't so likeable. Who might have a future, if he wasn't an Adam Sandler lookalike. Jim's got porn, he's got condoms, he's got a live internet feed and, God knows, he's horny. He's just incapable of talking to girls. What does the poor lad have to talk about? His porn, his stockpiled condoms, the time his mom caught him jerking off to static on the Playboy channel or his tragic inability to recognize an analogy?
Nevertheless, Jim manages to be the most engaging character in the movie, probably because he is the most honestly needy, the most clueless and the least assured. He's a victim of his own bodily functions and the butt of urban legends (the kid who tried to screw a pie, the kid who tried to do it on the internet...).
If they ever make a movie in which the female characters really matter — beyond the fact that she must be lovely, wide-eyed, young and wear sweater sets with butterfly accessories — I'll be happy to write something about them, too. The only girl with a real identity is the world-wise Jessica (Natasha Lyonne), who wisely wears headphones to her own senior prom, as if she alone knows that life is bigger than a yearbook. Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Alyson Hannigan also makes a funny appearance as a band nerd/dominatrix.
The sexual content stays tame, although it has one gratuitous exploit-the-foreign-exchange-babe scene. (If you're keeping moral score, does it make you feel better if it ultimately exposes the weakness of men and no one profits from evil?)
Remember Elaine on Seinfeld, criticizing the overwrought lovemaking in The English Patient? "Come on! Give me something I can use!" There might be something here that Pie's young target audience might find instructional. (Between South Park and Pie, the clitoris is getting a lot of free P.R. this summer.) Then again, maybe not.
