Cheri is a 2009 French/British/German drama film directed by Stephen Frears. Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Rupert Friend, it is an adaptation of the novel by French author Colette. Set in 1900s Belle Йpoque Paris, Cheri tells the story of the end of a six-year affair between an aging retired courtesan, Lйa, and a flamboyant young man, Chйri. Turning stereotypes upside-down, it is Chйri who wears silk pyjamas and Lйa’s pearls, and who is the object of gaze. DiXi releases the REPACK because previous release a bad aspect ratio.
Set in Paris in the years before World War I, CHERI paints a picture of the romance between young Chйri (Rupert Friend) and retired courtesan Lйa (Michelle Pfeiffer). Chйri’s mother (Kathy Bates), a rival of Lйa, plots to separate the pair by arranging a marriage between her son and Edmйe (Felicity Jones).
