Сезария Эвора ( родилась 27 августа 1941 в Минделу, Кабо-Верде), «босоногая дива» — певица с островов Зелёного Мыса, исполнительница морны, фаду и модиньи.
с 1958 г. работала на музыкальной сцене Архипелага.
Первоначально исполняла песни в стиле «морна»— жанр, традиционный для Островов Зелёного Мыса, а также «фаду» , африканские песни.
Поёт на кабовердийском креольском — диалекте португальского языка. Акустическое обрамление голосу составляют рояль, гавайская гитара, аккордеон, скрипки и кларнет.
На сцену Эвора неизменно выходит босиком — это символическая дань бедности, в которой жили (и продолжают жить) её земляки на Островах Зелёного Мыса.
Свой первый сольный альбом певица выпустила в сорок пять лет. Этим альбомом начинается её сотрудничество с Lusafrica, которое длится до сих пор.
В начале 80-х начала тур по Европе.
В 1988 году стала знаменита на весь мир.
Сезария Эвора является обладательницей французской музыкальной награды — «Victoire de la Musique».
Пять раз она была номинирована на Grammy, дважды становилась лауреатом этой премии.
6 февраля 2008 года Сезария Эвора награждена французским орденом Почётного легиона.

The smooth jazz group known as the Sax Pack, founded by Jeff Kashiwa and featuring Kim Waters and Steve Cole, debuted with a tour in 2004. In March 2008, the group released its debut, self-titled CD. It definitely made a mark, as the song “Fallin’ For You” was a smooth jazz hit that year and went all the way to No. 1.

Now, the boys are back on their saxophones. On September 29 they will release their sophomore CD, The Pack Is Back. The 10-song CD features the first single, “Can’t Help Myself,” as well as such original tunes as “Wanna Get Closer” and “This Time Around.” There’s also as a bonus track, a remixed version of “Fallin’ For You” by Davy D.

Kashiwa says he styled the Sax Pack after the camaraderie and fun he saw with the original Rat Pack from the movies and from concerts - Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. “The whole thing started kind of as a chuckle, kind of emulating the Rat Pack. And the reason why everyone loved the Rat Pack so much - I mean, they’re all great singers and all great actors and entertainers and dancers - is because of their camaraderie. We re-created that with the Sax Pack.”

So we kinda follow the sun. We’re sorta like night-blooming jazz-men.”
